VANEPS has recently expanded the team in Aruba with a new attorney. On the 18th of September Elina Blaauboer was sworn in by the Joint Court of Justice of Curacao, Aruba, St. Maarten and of Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. Elina started her career in the Litigation & Commercial section. She has been working at VANEPS since 2017.

Elina graduated from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2017 with a master’s degree in Employment Law. Besides of having work experience in a wide range of internships, she was also active as a board member of a legal aid center and the Employment Law Association of the Legal Faculty in Rotterdam. Elina gained work experience in Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. “I came to Aruba for the first time due to my internship at VANEPS and by experiencing to work as an attorney in the Caribbean my interest and love for the island developed” said Elina.

Whereas taking the oath is a really special moment for some, nothing really changes in the eyes of Elina. “It mostly makes it official”, said Elina. Nevertheless she is happy that her career as a lawyer officially starts from now on.
