On Thursday 15 February, Chambers & Partners has published its annual worldwide rankings for 2018. Like last year, VANEPS is the only law firm to be ranked in Band 1 for the Dutch Caribbean jurisdictions.

Beside our Band 1 ranking as a firm, the number of individually ranked attorneys of VANEPS has increased as well. Randolph van Eps and Frank Kunneman have again been ranked in Band 1 and Focco Lunsingh Scheurleer and Michiel Gorsira in Band 2. Molly Steward, who received a Band 3 ranking for the first time last year maintains her position, and newly ranked in Band 3 is partner Kamla Besançon. This year, 15 attorneys were ranked individually in our jurisdictions, of which six are partners of VANEPS.

Chambers & Partners applies a category ‘Expertise Based Abroad’ to various jurisdictions, including – since last year – Suriname. For two consecutive years, VANEPS is the only law firm to be included in this category. The legal services of VANEPS in Suriname have been structured in a dedicated Suriname Desk since 2015.

Chambers & Partners is an independent institute that researches the quality of lawyers and law firms worldwide. Chambers Global now covers over 190 jurisdictions, of which the Dutch Caribbean is one since 2010.
