Chambers & Partners has published its annual worldwide rankings for 2017 on Thursday 16 March. In Chambers Global 2017, VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne is the only law firm to be ranked in Band 1 for the Dutch Caribbean jurisdictions. VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne is also the only firm that has been ranked in a new category for law firms based abroad that are active in Suriname.
Chambers & Partners is an independent institute that researches the quality of lawyers and law firms worldwide. Chambers Global now covers 190 jurisdictions, of which the Dutch Caribbean is one since 2010.
The number of individually ranked attorneys of VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne has also increased. Randolph van Eps and Frank Kunneman have again been ranked in Band 1, Focco Lunsingh Scheurleer and Michiel Gorsira again in Band 2, and this year Molly Steward has received a ranking as well (in Band 3).
Chambers & Partners applies a category ‘Expertise Based Abroad’ to various jurisdictions. This year, that category has been introduced for Suriname as well. VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne is the only firm to be included in this new category. The legal services of VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne in Suriname have been structured in a dedicated Suriname Desk since 2015.
