The publication of the Chambers Global Guide 2021 was worth celebrating for VANEPS. For the 11th consecutive year, our firm has been ranked as the only band 1 firm in the Dutch Caribbean. In addition to that, our litigation partner Roderik van Hees is ranked individually for the first time.

Roderik is one of the driving forces of our litigation practice, and has been characterized by Chambers and Partners as a “well-respected practitioner” who is “also adept at handling cross-border litigation”. He is, by far, the youngest lawyer to be included in the Dutch Caribbean rankings. Roderik said the following about his ranking: “I am delighted to be individually ranked for the first time, which would not have been possible without the support of my colleagues and the trust of our clients. It inspires me to continue assisting our clients, solving their disputes in the best way possible.”

With his ranking, he joins our colleagues Randolph van Eps (senior statesperson), Frank Kunneman (band 1), Focco Lunsingh Scheurleer (band 1), Rogier van den Heuvel (band 3) and Michiel Gorsira (band 3) who all have been individually ranked once again this year.

Our firm’s continuous band 1 ranking is thanks to all our colleagues, working from our offices in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao and Sint Maarten, serving the Dutch Caribbean and Suriname, and is, once more, an affirmation of the quality of our work and the appreciation of our clients for always going the extra mile. Our newly appointed managing partner Tom Peeters comments: “This ranking again confirms the strong international presence of our firm with its solid local footprint in the Dutch Caribbean. Our team is and remains dedicated to provide the highest level of service and we value this recognition from our clients through Chambers and Partners.”
