Last week, the island of St. Maarten, along with other islands in the Caribbean and the US, have been severely impacted by Hurricane Irma. Due to the catastrophic destruction on the island, our office in St. Maarten is currently closed. It is still unclear when the situation is St. Maarten will allow our St. Maarten office to reopen.

In the meantime, all urgent matters can be addressed to Kamla Besançon and Stan van Liere. They are working remotely from Curaçao, and can be reached by email and telephone.

Please note that our offices in Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao are fully functional and all St. Maarten matters are and will be attended to, even while the St. Maarten office is closed. If you are unable to reach your regular contact at the St. Maarten office, please feel free to reach out to any of our attorneys.

We would like to thank all our clients and relations who have enquired about the well-being of our St. Maarten colleagues and their families, all of whom have now been accounted for and are safe.

We will continue to update you as the situations in St. Maarten develops.
