Focco assists financial institutions and associations of financial market parties in loan and credit facilities to local borrowers as well as international borrowers, either structured as syndicated loan facilities or as capital market transactions (bond issues). He also assists parties in preparing collateral documentation to secure investment institutions’ borrowing obligations to their lenders. His activities in corporate law include advising clients on acquisitions or divestitures of businesses, as well as corporate restructuring. Furthermore, Focco is an expert in the field of aviation. He assists clients with the registration and financing of airplanes and advises on mortgage loans, permits and regulations.
Focco started as a lawyer in 1995 at Trenité Van Doorne in Rotterdam; currently Simmons & Simmons. In 2000, he was transferred to VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne in Curaçao, where he was appointed managing partner in 2014.
During his career, Focco held several additional positions. He has been active as a board member of the Curaçao International Financial Services Association (CIFA), was a part-time lecturer International Private Law at the University of Curaçao (UoC) and he has been involved in a number of legislation projects.

- Assisting CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank in the project financing of the expansion of an existing wind farm for NuCuraçao.
- Advising RBC Merchant Bank and a syndicate of lenders in relation to a USD 59 mln syndicated loan to Servicio di Telecomunicacion di Aruba NV (SETAR).
- Assisting MeesPierson in the transfer of the complete client portfolio to Orco Bank, as a result of the termination of the private banking activities of MeesPierson in Curaçao.
- Assisting Export Development Canada and Palma Holding Limited with the acquisition and registration of three aircraft of the Bombardier Q-400 NextGen Series, the lease thereof to Falcon Aviation and the wet lease to Qazaq Air.
