Biografie
In 1995 begon Focco als advocaat bij Trenité Van Doorne in Rotterdam, momenteel Simmons & Simmons. In 2000 werd hij overgeplaatst naar VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne. Hij is actief als bestuurslid van de 'Curaçao International Financial Services Association', hij was parttime docent internationaal privaatrecht aan de Universiteit van de Nederlandse Antillen en is betrokken geweest bij een aantal wetgevingsprojecten. Focco assisteert cliënten bij leningen en kredietfaciliteiten aan lokale en internationale kredietnemers, zowel gestructureerde en consortiale leningen als kapitaalmarkttransacties (obligatie-emissies). Focco verstrekt advies aan financiële instellingen en verenigingen van financiële marktpartijen. Daarnaast assisteert hij partijen bij het opstellen van onderpanddocumentatie tot zekerheid van de leningsverplichtingen van de investeringsmaatschappijen tegenover hun kredietgevers. Zijn activiteiten op het gebied van ondernemingsrecht lopen uiteen van het adviseren van cliënten betreffende het verwerven of het afstoten van bedrijven in onze rechtsgebieden tot ondernemingsrechtelijke kwesties, zoals bedrijfsreorganisaties.

  • A bank in the financing of the Santa Barbara Hyatt Hotel Project in Curacao
  • AIB Bank syndicate in the financing of the Ritz-Carlton Aruba Hotel
  • Banks and borrowers in various international financing transactions
  • Columbus Networks in the acquisition of a local legal entity, including the license for a television broadcasting station pursuant to which offering of internet, telephone and television will be possible
  • Credit Suisse in the financing of various Dutch Caribbean hotel acquisitions
  • Delta Lloyd, the Dutch insurance company, on its sale of a mortgage portfolio to Arubabank
  • RBTT Bank in the refinancing of the Aruban Divi Hotel Group
  • Scotia Bank in the financing of the new Curacao Hyatt hotel project
  • Teva Pharmaceutical Industries with the issuance of USD 5 billion of notes
  • The purchaser in the USD 237 million acquisition of the Marriott Hotel on Aruba
