On Monday, June 24, last, the VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne Prize was awarded for the thirteenth time. This year the prize went to Arriën F.E. Lekkerkerker for his thesis titled “Comply or Explain? De Modelstatuten voor Overheids-NV’s op Curaçao in verhouding tot de regels van Corporate Governance en Boek 2 BW(Comply or Explain? The Model Statutes for Public Limited Companies in Curaçao in relation to the rules of Corporate Governance and Book 2 Civil Code).”

DCLP points out the striking stability of the size of the different law firms, while it mentions that largest regional law firm VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne also shows a significant growth on Sint Maarten.

During the official Change of Board Ceremony on 29 June 2013 in the Great Bay Sonesta Hotel in Philipsburg, the new board members of the Rotary Club Saint Martin Sunrise for the year 2013-2014 have been appointed in the presence of approximately 90 guests. The English spoken feature length movie “Tula the Revolt”, about the largest slave revolt on the island of Curaçao (in 1795), has had its world premiere in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on 25 June.  VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne acted as the legal advisor for the movie during its creation, and is credited as a proud sponsor of the project as well.
