The opening of the new airport on Curaçao on the 31 of July is a fact. A number of airlines, including the Royal Dutch Arilines, KLM, claimed in summary proceedings that the relocation should be postponed. But the claim has been rejected.

Paramaribo – since yesterday Simpson Oil Limited (SOL), a Barbadian company led by automobile tycoon Kyffin Simpson, is the new owner of the Shell operations in the Caribbean (Shell Antilles & Guianas Limited), excluding Shell Suriname. The signing of the Contract of Purchase and Sale and a Trademark License Agreement yesterday puts all Shell Companies in Suriname, St. Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, Dominica, St. Vincent, Anguilla, Grenada, Netherlands Antilles, St. Kitts & Nevis, British Virgin Islands, Belize en Guyana in the hands of Simpson Oil. Only Shell Aviation has not been taken over, as was confirmed in a communiqué by Shell Suriname.

WILLEMSTAD — Four years after the onshore banking activities of ABN Amro were sold to RBTT and a year after the trust was divested of to Equity, ABN Amro lowers its last flag on Curaçao: ABN Amro’s offshore bank in de Antilles is being taken over by the FirstCaribbean International Bank from Barbados.
