Curacao lawyer Nanne Holtrop Trustee in Bankruptcy Coral Estate and Habitat Diveresort

CURACAO - At the beginning of this month, on 9 December , the Court of First Instance of Curaçao declared Coral Estate Seaside Hotel NV and Habitat Diveresort BV bankrupt. In both cases, this was done at the request of the corporation itself, notably by their director Sybolt ten Hoopen.

Ten Hoopen filed for bankruptcy on 24 November. On 9 December a hearing took place in chambers, in which the director himself appeared. On the same day the bankruptcy was pronounced. The petition and the hearing in chambers provided prima facie evidence, as it is officially called, that Coral Estate Seaside Hotel and Habitat Diveresort “fail to pay several debts”, and facts and circumstances prove that petitioners are in the position of “having ceased to pay”.

Coral Estate Seaside Hotel and Habitat Diveresort were declared bankrupt and on that occasion judge A. Beukenhorst was appointed bankruptcy judge and lawyer N. Holtrop – working with the law firm VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne in Curaçao – was appointed as trustee. Data from the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce show that Coral Estate Seaside Hotel was not established until April 2008. Habitat Diveresort was established in April 2005. Ten Hoopen had had power of representation since January 2009. Aforementioned corporations are not related to the current new developments at the Coral Estate Center.
