Seminars DCSX and 10-10-12 attracted many people in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM - Two years after the Netherlands Antilles were dismantled, law firm VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne organized two seminars at its Dutch Caribbean desk in Amsterdam for clients and relations, in cooperation with Van Doorne.
This year, special attention was paid to the Dutch Caribbean Securities Exchange (DCSX) with a special lunch session. Luis Santine, retiring CEO of the DCSX, Hedde Plas (Amicorp), and Harry van Hulten (Space Expedition Curaçao) explained the commercial chances and possibilities the DCSX has to offer the Dutch market to a group of Dutch lawyers, tax lawyers, entrepreneurs, and professionals in the trust sector. After seminars in Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil, the DCSX seminar in Amsterdam can be added to a successful series of introductions of the DCSX. VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne, a Listing Advisor of the DCSX, was the host of the DCSX seminar.

The afternoon session 10-10-12 “Is the Kingdom ready for a sustainable and innovative future?” was introduced by Frank Kunneman, managing partner of VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne. Prof. dr. Kunneman gave a provocative and positive speech on sustainable business practice in Curaçao. By the title “Corporate Governance or chaos in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom?” he discussed the current political and economic situation in Curaçao. He notably addressed the special challenges small islands such as Curaçao experience in many fields, but certainly also in relation to Corporate Governance.

Entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist Jacob Gelt Dekker gave a speech on disruptive innovation. This is the phenomenon that inventions and technologies that did not exist before and did not fit into the existing markets create their own mass market to subsequently swallow the existing markets. After this speech, the day was concluded with Caribbean drinks.

Robert van Beemen, lawyer with VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne and responsible for the Dutch Caribbean Desk in Amsterdam: “The success of last year’s seminar ‘10-10-11 One year later and following…’ was exceeded this year. A strong program, commercially and with regard to content, high level speeches, and an excellent networking event. Today, eighty professionals from the legal profession, the trust sector, but also entrepreneurs and investors attended who are very interested in commercial possibilities the Dutch Caribbean offers. A 10-10 tradition was born!”
