Creditors bankrupt Habitat get zero
Willemstad – The Court of First Instance of Curaçao lifted the bankruptcy of Habitat Diviresort bv and Coral Estate Seaside Hotel nv, both domiciled in Curaçao, “on account of the condition of the assets”, according to trustee Michiel Gorsira of the local law firm VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne. “The creditors cannot be paid”, he says. In a brief explanation, the trustee says, upon being asked, that “not much can be said about these consolidated settled bankruptcies.” Both corporations succeeding each other in their activities were involved in managing and operating apartments/rooms in the – former – Habitat Hotel and some villas at Coral Estate at Rif Sint Marie. Gorsira: “The operation deteriorated/went so bad that taxes and other costs could not be paid anymore, all activities were ceased since mid-last year, and the corporations themselves filed for bankruptcy in early December 2011.” The (last) director of the Habitat Diveresort established in April 2005 and the Coral Estate Seaside Hotel established in April 2008 was Sybolt ten Hoopen, according to data of the Chamber of Commerce.
