Top 25 Law Firms in the Dutch Caribbean

According to Curacao Legal Portal, the top 25 of the law firms in the Dutch Caribbean is led by VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne.  Both VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne and HBN Law have their principal offices in Curacao and branch offices in Aruba and Bonaire, while HBN Law also has an office in St. Maarten.

Curacao Legal Portal has composed a list for the Dutch Caribbean and for the individual islands of Curacao, Aruba, St. Maarten and Bonaire, based on the number of lawyers. This list is based on quantity, not necessarily quality. Of the top 25, 13 have their head office in Curacao, 7 in Aruba, and 5 in St. Maarten. Bonaire has not reached the top 25 as yet, according to Curacao Legal Portal, but this is due to change when the island becomes part of The Netherlands later on this year. This is also the case with Saba and St. Eustatius who do not have law firms of their own.

The Common Court of Justice of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba has approximately 275 officially registered lawyers. 150 of them work in Curacao (55 percent), 80 in Aruba (30 percent), 40 in St. Maarten (15 percent), and 5 in Bonaire (2 percent). The 150 lawyers in Curacao are employed by 50 firms.
