Pro Bono Foundation
In 2009 our law firm established the foundation “Pro Bono VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne”. This foundation aims to provide pro bono legal services for underprivileged persons, non-profit organizations, starting enterprises and other small initiatives. The foundation also strives to develop and promote science, education, social education and culture in the Caribbean area. Pro Bono VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne is managed by Randolph van Eps, Mayesi Hammoud and Esther Jansen. For more information you can contact Mayesi Hammoud.
One of our pro bono activities was the drafting of an agreement between a local softball club and the Island Territory of Curacao. “A new house for Chompi” was another project, in which we supported the renovation of our back neighbor’s house. We assisted the Prinses Wilhelmina Fonds in drawing up contracts for the use of their logo. As part of the legal advice we render to Fundashon Pro Monumento we recently managed to prevent the demolition of the monumental cinema Cinelandia which was imminent without allowing Pro Monumento to voice their opinion as one of the parties concerned. We have been involved in the youth theater school Dranzans that helps youths to develop their theater skills and one of our board members has a seat in the board of CliniClowns, an organization that offers diversion to children in hospitals.
