VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne is the leading Dutch Caribbean law firm for local, intra-insular and international matters. We have offices in Curacao, Bonaire, Aruba, St. Maarten and Amsterdam.
In addition, we are active on Saba, St. Eustatius and the rest of the Dutch Caribbean. Through our association with Van Doorne we also have an extra office in Amsterdam. To assist you best, our lawyers are organized in Client Industries and Practice Areas.
On March 31st Mr. Abraham Papier starts a law firm at the Columbusstraat 1 in Curacao.
Alex “Shon Papa” Rojer takes the office over after having learned the trade from mr. Papier.
The office begins to specialize in specific corporate sectors as a result of Mr. Rojer’s successful efforts for the strongly growing Caribbean tourism sector. Our office becomes the consultant for the tourist sector.
This year marked the beginning of the cooperation with a Dutch office: the Van Doorne & Warendorf office in Amsterdam; an office that regularly sends out lawyers to Curacao. As a consequence, our name is changed into Rojer Van Doorne & Warendorf. Our firm connections with the financial services sector date from this period, as this cooperation results in an association with one of the largest trust offices.
Van Doorne & Warendorf merges with Swart & Sjollema from Rotterdam. Shortly after that Mr. Rojer retires. Mr. Frank Promes, former Attorney General of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba, joins the office as a partner. As a result of this the office is now named Promes Van Doorne & Sjollema. Mr. Promes brings in a world of experience and a sound practice in administrative law, including legislative processes and civil service cases.
After many years the Curacao office moves from Pietermaai to its current monumental accommodation at the Julianaplein.
We open a branch in Aruba.
As a result of a merger of Van Doorne & Sjollema with rival Nolst Trenité, our name changes into Promes Trenité Van Doorne.
After a split-off of the Dutch offices in Amsterdam and Rotterdam we are called Promes Van Doorne.
Mr. Promes leaves the firm and two senior partners attach their name to the partnership: VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne.
In anticipation to political changes we open a branch in Bonaire.
The Dutch Caribbean Desk in Amsterdam is opened and staffed. In November we officially opened a branch in St. Maarten
