De financiële dienstensector omvat organisaties die te maken hebben met het beheer van geld, zoals banken, verzekeraars, trustfondsen, beurzen, vermogensbeheerders en investeringsfondsen. Wereldwijd is dit de grootste sector, niet alleen qua aantal bedrijven, maar ook wat betreft inkomsten en marktkapitalisatie.
Tot onze cliënten behoren onder meer lokale en internationale banken, kredietinstellingen en verzekeringsmaatschappijen. Wij zijn de vertrouwde adviseur voor de Curaçaose offshoresector, die een spilfunctie vervult in de regionale economie.
We adviseren organisaties inzake financiering van fusies en overnames, projectfinanciering, en handels- en exportfinanciering. Ook assisteren we buitenlandse financiële instellingen bij het opzetten van kantoren in de regio.
We zijn ook betrokken bij productontwikkeling in de sector en de Curaçaose beurs. De verschillende jurisdicties en het versnipperde toezicht op de sector maken dit interessant. We nemen ook regelmatig deel aan wetgevingstrajecten, mede om op de hoogte te blijven van de laatste ontwikkelingen. Vanzelfsprekend staan we onze clienten ook bij in (financiële) geschillen. Tot slot zijn we benoemd als curator in het faillissement van Lehman Brothers' regionale entiteit.
