Our energy practice has expanded following the BOO Project in 2000, the largest energy construction project in the Netherlands Antilles, whereby a new utility facility was erected in Curacao.

Our energy practice draws on experience from various legal specialists from various practice groups, including regulation and compliance, environment & planning, acquisition, finance and litigation. Our practice is based on knowledge of the energy sector and the various players in this field in the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.

We have 4 lawyers in our team and offer comprehensive advice across the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba. Our work includes advising on: strategic alliances, dispute resolution, liberalization, power asset deals, financing, privatizations and environmental law. Our team has ample experience in takeovers in the energy sector.

Among the clients in this market are the owner company of the Curacao Refinary, the Government Owned Utility Companies of Curacao and Bonaire, the international operator of the utility plant in Sint Maarten and the refinery on Sint Eustatius.
